Following on from our successful fundraising enterprise work before Christmas, Class 10 decided to help Shelter Scotland. This was Barry’s chosen charity: having a home to go to is important to him and he felt that a charity supporting others with housing issues is important.
The boys sent out letters asking if anyone had unwanted Christmas presents or Bric-a-Brac. We received a number of kind donations.
We then took our donations to the Shelter Shop on Union Street. We met Kylie, the Shop Manager, and John, the Area Manager. They were very grateful to receiver our donations and these will be sold on in the shop.
If you’ve never been in the Shelter Charity Shop it’s well worth a visit. They have lots of clothes, shoes, toys, books and DVDs among other things. If like us, you sometimes find yourself with things you no longer need it’s good to pass them on for others to re-use.
Barry also hopes to make a cash donation to Shelter. He has raised around £30 already by making soup to sell to staff at lunchtime, and his next venture will be some scones for staff breaks.
Well done Barry & Class 10!
